I like this entry as a sort of dissection on Naruto's character. Most people know I'm a SasuNaru fan. I'm a big one, but I'm also one of those people who can see exactly why SasuNaru as a pairing can be discredited. I hope it's okay to throw in my two cents. D:
The problem with SasuNaru is that as it currently stands, it's a one sided affection. It's unhealthy. A relationship can't(or should not) be a one-sided thing. At least, anything approaching a wholesome relationship.
To me, it's not that it looks one-sided, it's that it is one-sided. To successfully argue that it's not, you'd have to offer examples from the canon post timeskip, but there are none where Sasuke has demonstrated the level of care for Naruto, that Naruto has shown for him. If it is there(and we assume it is, if Sasuke is ever to make a turnaround), then it is buried deep. We haven't seen solid evidence of it

No problem, I was doing something more specific here as there is a reason why most SasuNaru fans can't just 'go back' on how they see it in comparison to the Big 3 because it has very critical circumstances. If you look at SasuSaku for instance, which has similar circumstances, it's obvious it's not the same as SasuNaru in its application or form

I definitely agree. The dynamics of SN 'one sidedness' is completely different to that of, say, SasuSaku. You could say 'one sided is one sided' but that would be like lumping the SasuNaru relationship with all of Sasuke's other relationships. The key difference is Naruto, and how he affects Sasuke more than anything else (a side from Itachi), the history of their relationship and, most importantly, the similarities of their past which sets this bond apart from others.
Thanks, you seem to see it as I do. For me it's not even the onesidedness; Naruto is no doormat nor does he have twisted objectives, therefore if he wants to be there for Sasuke, I have to problem with it. The positive influence isn't just a fairy-tale like in most pairings. Hardships have their worth and SasuNaru's aren't even romantic, there would be nothing of the sort until some serious order was put in their lives - thus the comparison doesn't even make sense to me.
