Everything is measured in dollars and cents.

No kidding. We had a referendum in the fall over whether or not Bikeshare should receive 25 cents from a levy on students.

I think that there are a lot of reasons why U of T students are notoriously disengaged, though money definitely is one. Too many people are here to make money. Those that aren't just complain about university endlessly and really don't want to be here.

On the other hand, campus politics are notoriously lame and meaningless. A university is, above all, a place to learn. I think both the activists and the apathetics miss that point.

Also, there definitely is activity on campus, but it's shrouded by a mass of indistinguishable Chinese girls, all between 5'3" and 5'6", walking north to St. George station in brown coats with furry hoods.

i think by saying that campus politics are notoriously lame and meaningless, you yourself are being apathetic. I'm not suggesting that we all run for SAC. I just think that university is more than a place to learn, and that we should all take advantage of the resources it provides more often.
