With the beginning of a new month, and the beginning of the new financial year, it was time for a fresh installation of WinXP Pro, along with a new wallpaper. Actually, the new calender month and financial year had nothing to do with the decision to reinstall; the OS was just feeling sluggish, and I had a few profile and permissions issues in the last few months that were just starting to really bug me.
I had toyed with the idea of buying a new 2.5" HDD, a 120GB one perhaps, to replace my current 80GB 7200rpm HDD, but in the end decided that it wasn't worth it. Instead, I partitioned my HDD with 25GB for the OS and programs, with the remaining 50GB for my files. Other than that, there weren't any major changes, just updates to the latest version of software: finally moving to Windows Live Messenger from MSN 7.5, to Firefox 2 from Firefox 2.2, etc. I also had to rewrite the skin .ini for Rainmeter to account for the new partition, but that was about it.
And man, does my computer feel so much faster again!
Evening Edit: I was bored, so I decided to try my hand at some pixel pushing.
