Well, Slav has mentioned liking white wines, and Rieslings are sweeter(ish) German wines, and are good for turkey. Yes, be afraid, Slav is doing something that would be considered wine appropriate. If feeling bold, try a Gewurztraminer or even (shudder, for personal taste) a Liebfraumilch. They're in the rough same family (and yes, to other wine aficionados, I mean roughly) and he might enjoy them.
I tend to favor the heavier, deeper darker reds, but my better half would be right with the Slav on the wine tastes.

Well, it was a sweet marinade on the turkey--I tried a new maple mustard and brown sugar one and it was pretty stellar, I thought.
