This had never occurred to me until I was reading boards this morning, and I think it's worth passing along.

If you have been considering making a donation to the Red Cross or MSF to aid in earthquake relief in Haiti, please do, but do not be overly-specific about what you want your money to be used for. Someone this morning said:

Thanks for the tip. I had donated to the Haiti Red Cross fund, but in the future I'll definitely look into the general fund - no need for money to sit around!
