Smallish announcement

May 28, 2010 22:42

So...

Well.

Uh.

I'm growing a fetus. The finished product will arrive in December. No fussing or gushing is necessary.

Man, I've been harboring this terrible fear/paranoia that none of my friends are going to think I'm cool anymore. The Slav thinks this is crazy pie, and he's probably right. But I'm still worried.

Well, at least you have a better reason to get on with knitting.

Funny thing... knitting has been making me nauseous for almost three months now. This had better subside soon or I might well kill someone.

Hrm. In the cold light of morning and tea, this post doesn't sound terribly happy, does it? I was trying to avoid being all "I'm so crafty, I MAKE PEOPLE! WORSHIP MEEEEE!" and instead sound glum. Well, crap.

Thanks for the congrats. I am happy (and apprehensive, and scared, and still kind-of disbelieving) about the impending sproglet. =)

It's kind of a hard balance to ride, I think, because no matter which way you feel about 'em, babies are Big Deal. So, trying to tone it down... I just wasn't sure how to take it. ;)

I guess St Patrick's Day was successful ;)
hehehehehahahaha XD

My main doc is Dr Hardyk over at Centre Medical and Surgical. She's been my GYN for years, and she's very competent.
I'm right there with you about IVs and induction. My current goal is to go completely drug-free during labor, partly because I know it's better for the spawn, partly because I don't like meds in general, and mostly because I like to think I'm tough sometimes. We shall see. There will absolutely be no epidural, though. Those things freak me out. "...You want to do WHAT to my spine?!"

I have not yet met a crazy lactation nazi (in person anyway. Seen many bouncing around and flinging their poo on the internet.) Matter of time, I'm sure.

IIRC, the Crazy Lactation Nazis were a Canadian post-punk band that used to open for The Dead Milkmen. Well, probably not, but wouldn't it be cool if that were true?

Don't forget to weave in the ends! Blocking might not be necessary.
