I'm almost done with the stockings! I finished the heel last night! All that's left is the foot and the toe!!!

...So WHY am I fondling the lace yarn the Josh got me for my birthday, and petting the roving from my Fiber Project sheep? (Technically, the roving is part Annie-sheep and part alpaca. Annie's fleece was rooing pretty badly this year.)

Psh. Swatching is for sissies. The only way to make sure you like a yarn is to knit a sock or hat out of it :P

I guess I'm a sissy, then... not swatching has bit me right on the ass enough times that I'm pretty faithful about doing it.

...on the other hand, how can a shawl NOT fit? Especially when its intended recipient is an infant? Okay, screw the swatch.
