Disclaimer: None of the following is true in any way, and no profit is made from this work of fiction.
In celebration of Christmas, we have a short little ficlet about the boys and decorating. And with it, is an additional song download. It doesn't fit 100%, but I'lll be damned if I can't picture our Jared singing this. Not only singing it, but belting it out in the loudest voice he can.
Don't let your kids/grandmother/religious Mom listen to this. It's crass as hell, and just as hilarious.
The Dan Band - Rock You Hard JINGLE ALL THE WAY
Standing on the two-step bench, Jensen stretched, trying to reach the top of the living room windows. They were much taller than he'd expected. He grunted as he worked, stringing Christmas lights. Jeffrey and Stevie were out, frantically searching for last minute gifts that they'd either forgotten about or hadn't been able to find earlier. Technically, they still had a few days left before Christmas, but neither of them liked the idea of shopping too close to the holiday.
Jensen had offered to decorate while they were out. He was done with his shopping, and Christmas was one of the hoidays he really enjoyed, regardless of how Alan had had a knack of doing or saying something to put a damper on it all.
Not this year.
This year, he was with Jared.
Thoughts returning to the man, Jensen smiled brightly amdist his work. "I'm glad we stayed behind to do this," he said to Jared, who was working beside him, on the Christmas tree.
"You're really into this shit, huh?"
Chuckling, Jensen nodded as he tacked the lights up over the top of the window frame. "Yeah," he agreed. "One of the few times of the year I could stand my Dad."
"Why's that?"
Jensen shrugged. "Mostly because he was drunk eighty-percent of the time," he answered honestly.
Jared laughed as he worked. "Good times," he chuckled.
Jensen heard the soft jingle of bells. He had heard about the tradition of putting a bell on the tree in memory of Jared's mother, who had religiously watched the Christmas favorite, "It's A Wonderful Life." Smiling brighter, Jensen turned to watch Jared put the bell on the tree. He loved this time of year.
Christmas cookies, colorful bows and wrapping paper, tinsel, twinkle lights -- and Jared standing by the tree, tying a small jingle bell to one of his nipple rings. One already dangled from the opposite ring, hanging by silver metallic thread. The tree was forgotten about. Instead, Jared was interested in decorating himself.
Jensen's smile faded as he watched Jared finish tying the silver strand to his nipple ring.
Once the bells were secure, Jared smiled down at his own handy work. Proudly, he looked over at Jensen.
Blinking, one eyebrow arched, Jensen could only stare at him for several seconds. Finally, his voice returned. "You're... Really weird," he decided.
Not at all offended, Jared bounced so that the rings jingle-jangled. He watched them, truly delighted. "Happy gay Christmas!" he cheered.
Still rather stunned, Jensen slowly nodded his head. "You're...Really weird."
Jared bounced again. "Each time a bell rings, a gay angel gets fabulous glittery wings!"
"Oh, my God," Jensen declared. "You're going to go to Hell."
Not in the slightest insulted, Jared only laughed boisterously, mouth open wide. He went back to work on the tree, the bells still dangling from the rings at his chest.
Jensen's smile finally broke free and he shook his head. Life with Jared was more than entertaining. It was true brilliance at times.
