Yeah, I agree w/ a bunch of your picks. Especially Wilco and !!!! (Chk Chk Chk). I didn't really like "A Ghost Is Born" at first, but it was the same way the first time I heard YHF. Then after a couple of listens, it was all I listened to for weeks. Other albums of 2004: Brian Wilson-"Smile"=album of the year. Also, off the top of my head, I liked Our Endless Numbered Days-Iron & Wine, Together We're Heavy- Polyphonic Spree, Yoko-Beulah, Hopes and Fears- Keane, Antics-Interpol, Alphabetical- Pheonix, College Dropout-Kanye West, The Beautiful Struggle-Talib Kweli, From a Basement on the Hill-Elliot Smith. Seriously man, I think I say this everytime I talk to you, but we should seriously hang out. I really want to see that video. I'll be in NPR this Tuesday until Dec 28th. Give me a call!!!!!!!
Man, I completely forgot about Kanye's CD, and I wasn't even aware Talib released a new album. I'll definitely have to check it out. And yes, I always say this too, but we DO need to hang out. What's your cell number? I had it in my old phone, but I had to get a new one.

...and the Rx.
They're in my top three concerts of 2004. I think I prefer Tyranny of Distance to Shake the Streets... but how much fun is "Counting the Hours"?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Lovely review of Franz Ferdinand. Though you forgot to mention the spectacle involved in their music videos, and how it gives them that more of an edge.

Haven't entirely compiled my top ten, per say... but (besides the two mentioned above) it would probably include: "The Concretes" (self titled), "The Elected" (self titled), and "Wild Like Children" by Tilly and the Wall

Yeah, Ted's done a free show at Club Downunder every year since I've been here. Some friends and I got to chat with him after the show, and he's one of the coolest dudes I've met.
