I didn't dislike Dave solely because I was misanthropic. I was just fine with him until he started trying to mold my [according to him] tender, innocent young mind. I have no patience for guys who think I exist solely to absorb their infinite wisdom. If he wanted responsibility-free ego boosting, he should have bought a talking Elmo doll.
Also, while this may have been less of an issue for you, he had some problems with personal boundaries. Like "when is nudity appropriate?" type personal boundaries. It creeped me out.
Wait, is he *still* trying to reassure you that the breakup wasn't your fault? (Actually, I have it on good authority that the breakup was at least partially *my* fault. And you know what? I'm okay with that.)
