Harbinger Of Spring

I thought I would take a moment to introduce everyone to the Pulsatilla Patens Multifida (or the Eastern Pasqueflower/American Pasqueflower).

I took notice of this flower last year on a meditation retreat at Shambhala Mountain Center . While the rest of the mountain flora slumbered, this spirited little flower braved the cold to announce that

Those are beautiful. :) Around here, I look for crocus flowers at the very end of winter/early, early spring. They're wilting now, but it's still cooler than it usually is this time of year and it just doesn't feel like spring yet.
