So that was fun...

So, as I'm wont to do, I repost a HuffPost repost on GOPride having Anne Coulter as their speaker. Regrettably, I failed to use a quip about that being like General Custer speaking at an AIM conference ( Read more... )

Huh. Now that does sound like an interesting troll-flame-booyah-thingie. You have to love the "government bad" knee-jerk response. *headdesk*

Well, yeah.

I'm not saying government is all good... but we wouldn't have gotten to the moon if all government did was patrol the borders and let people inside the borders beat up on those different from the percieved norm.

Would we?

We would've gotten to the moon so that we'd have new and exciting borders to patrol.

Hmm...

I can picture the protests now, as Martians are not allowed on Olympus Mons Colony if they don't have US id cards, all the while being ignored when it's pointed out they are Martians, after all.

I had to go look up the Twitter argument when you referenced it on Facebook. Valiantly attempted, but I'm sure you know what they say about arguing on the Internet being like the Special Olympics. :)

Thanks, and 2 pts for the ironic use of a liberal President putting his foot in his mouth, and getting called on it despite the complaints of conservative media... or at least the dude who writes "Mallard Fillmore."

I applaud you, good lady.

Honestly, I wish a quarter of the internet arguments were half as inspiring as the Special Olympics. In one, you have people exceeding limits or at least trying to, finding possibilities where there supposedly aren't any.

In the other, you have people clumsily fumbling about and acting stupid, unaware of how idiotic they look.

Yeah, internet arguments can suck.

Pretty please could you just send them one more tweet - a link to the xkcd cartoon where someone on the internet is wrong?

See my follow up post. But I will be glad to twitter it, in case any are still reading me.
