Re: What women want...

For the record, the previous post was a joke. It was Snape's birthday! I'm sorry to report that I will not be turning into JK Rowling's sarky potions master any time soon. (And my LJ will shortly be returning to it's normal state. The green gives me a headache ( Read more... )

I think you're right about "edge" being related to chemistry, which is why I probably attribute it to mystery. I had a boyfriend once who was very modest and didn't talk a lot about himself, so it was intriguing to get to know him and have that feeling of discovering that the more I got to know, the more I liked. For one thing, he seemed like someone who could possibly have a bit of a bad boy edge, but it turns out he spent a lot of his "mysterious" time with his family and old childhood friends, which in turn attracted me even more because I thought those were good qualities. If it had turned out he was spending all that previously unaccounted for time torturing puppies or engaged in other "bad" behavior, I'd have been turned off. Shockingly, yes. ;) But modesty and not feeling the need to broadcast every little thing were "X factors" that were apparently important to me in that situation ( ... )

Hmm, so you are definitely into the mystery. Interesting. I definitely think that's something I can work on. I do tend to be too honest, sometimes, when answering questions. /the serious bit

I should just chuck in, "I could tell you that, but then I'd have to kill you!" every so often, to keep girls on their toes!

An edge effect, eh? I like that!

I'm so bad in detecting sarcasm in writing... But I'm not offended at all. I think attraction and such is a very interesting subject. In my experience, a little kindness goes a looong way. When someone does something to make me happy without expecting anything back, I always find myself wondering what I can do to make that someone smile too.

I like your vision on how to survive retail! I've worked in customer service about four or five times, and I agree that it is the only way to not become depressed.

I have it on very good authority that I am the hardest person ever to tell the difference between seriousness and sarcasm. It's even harder in writing!

And, well, they say there is some truth in most jokes, so I did appreciate your comments. I love kindness, too. I think it's a wonderful thing. Although I tend to seperate it from niceness, which really has had too many negative connotations attached to it, over the years. In my head, anyway!

I think it's wonderful that kindness can be passed around in the way you describe. That's lovely to hear!

Aw, I missed all the Jerk!J fun yesterday when I was at my night class. Stupid night class. I think I'll drop it, though not so I can keep up with LJ. 'Cause that'd be weird. But I suppose normal, sweet J is tolerable, if less greasy and a bit better smelling. ;)

And in other news, I've been thinking about it, and I think anywhere between ten and fifteen bucks (each) would be a sweet deal, myself. Are you willing to pay that much? If you want the joy of hagging, though, I'll start at 100 dollars a piece. Make it interesting. :P

Upon closer inspection, that should be "haggling." I lose.

You read any Pratchett?

In Discworld, hagging would mean you'd make me think I was a toad if I didn't bid enough!

*attempts to haggle*

That's outrageous! I have ten kids to feed!

I'll give you fifty dollars and not a canadian cent more!

(You counting it as three pieces?)
