The other week, or one before, I went to America, where there was an extremely awesome Wedding that involved dancing and which was followed by a trip to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, where there was an ocean that offered opportunities to swim after black fins in the water that I was fairly sure weren't sharks and luckily turned out to be ( Read more... )

Oh, that's what she was linking to! I was like, tennis? And then slugs? And then it took way too much mental power to realize she meant real, live slugs, and not metal slugs, and. Ah. Now I'll have to watch it. :)

My coworker was in Florida during Fay... kind of sucked for her vacation, but she said once they accepted the rain it was strangely freeing to truly relax and have no activities demands on their time, and that made sense to me.

Hilton Head sounds very exotic... I still haven't been to the beach! I hear the Atlantic is warm though -- what a weird concept (the Pacific is freeeeezing year round).

Ah yes, important distinction. Does the Atlantic warm up during the summer in Canada? The Pacific is pretty much cold year-round on the West Coast around Oregon and Washington. Although it was nice in Hawaii...

Atlantic was certainly warm in comparison to what I'm used to - which includes lakes in the Lake District and the Portsmouth harbour on New Years day. Brrrrrrr.

It was quite exotic. There were alligators everywhere!
