Poor ol' Harry

Jul 17, 2006 21:53

Uck. My SQ story has ground to a halt. I'm trying to write a piece from Harry's POV. He's at the Dursley's. Hermione has set up a tent in the garden and nipped away for a few hours to talk to her parents (Ron will be arriving the day after). And Harry's meant to be thinking about his break-up with Ginny. I had this plotted out a few weeks ago. It's ( Read more... )

There is a song I sing when I need to wallow. It goes like this:

Nobody likes me, everybody hates me. Guess I'll go eat some worms. Big, fat, squishy ones, long, thin, slimy ones, eeewy gooey worms all day.

It's strangely comforting. I want you to overcome your block so I can read about Hermione. That is why I am sharing. Not at all out of personal concern, or sympathy for the whole "why the heck do you want to be a teacher?" thing. Nope.

That's a great song! I never heard that last line before - we always sang "itty bitty fuzzy wuzzy worms."

I had to put the scene in because Hermione barely gets a line in the rest of the fic. I've got too many Weasleys to try and fit in meaningfully. Have you any entire how many of them there are? Well, yes, you probably do, but nine is a lot! And they all have to have their part. Plus there is Harry and Fleur who are honorary Weasleys in my fic, so that makes eleven! /random rant for no good reason

Thanks for the song. It sounds like a kiddie trying to guilt trip his parents/teacher into paying him attention to me. :p Feel sympathy for me or I'll eat worms and then YOU'LL have to clean up the puke.

Hi, J. Hope you don't mind if I friend you! ^_^

That said, I totally respect your choice, J. Not a lot of people know this, but I was accepted for Cambridge and turned it down. You can probably guess why. :) I'm now doing something I love - not sure how it's all going to turn out, but I'll take whatever comes my way.

*sends out respect vibes in J's general direction*

Ada.

Well... it's not that I mind, exactly. It's just that I've heard tell that you are a SNAPEFAN...

Oh, alright then! :D

Do you know, I'm not sure I can guess why. My cousin turned them down because she felt there was a better course at another uni. Was it something like that or did you just not like the atmosphere there?

What are you doing which you love? It sounds great! And respect back at you for seeking it out.

Hey, I'm friending you -- hope that's all right! I was intrigued by your explanation of the difference between common law and equity on emelye916's LJ, and after looking at this entry, it all makes sense now. I think it's cool you're going to be a teacher... Your barber story cracks me up -- unsolicited advice from people who don't actually know much about you or your situation can be funny, if you're distanced enough from it to be entertained (I'm usually not and consequently end up getting pissed off at Great Aunt Sally or Dad's Friend Bill or whoever). Anyway, long-winded introduction over right about... now. :)

*chuckles* I have no idea how anyone could intrigued by that description.:p Are you a lawyer yourself?

I think you are the only person on LJ who has a theme-tune in my head whenever I see your name! It's a very cool screen name.

Friending you back.

Not a lawyer yet... law student. I'll be starting my third (and final) year this fall. (I'm in the US -- I think we have a different legal education system than you guys -- law school is three years and you enroll after getting your bachelor's degree.) I'm still in the idealistic "I love law school!" phase and have yet to be spoiled by actually WORKING as a lawyer. Although, I'm working at a law firm this summer and it's still pretty cool, so maybe I'll get to hang onto my enthusiasm.

What is my theme song?!?! Something related to my screen name? *is confused*

If you enjoy law school, I think you'll enjoy working in law (which I suspect is more interesting than law school)! It sounds like you are on to a winner. It's great to be doing something that you love.

(I meant to say one of only two people who has a theme tune!)

I'm assuming you know the band Tenacious D? In one of their songs, I think it's tribute, there's a bit of the tune that goes ten-ay-ay-ay-acious deee. So my brain always goes, "sag-ay-ay-ay-acious seee" every time I see your name. It actually makes you seem very impressive! *grins*
