Our apartment was broken into (while we weren’t home, thankfully) and stuff (including Chris’s MacBook) was stolen.
So we’ve placed a police report and talked to our neighbors - turns out this is the fourth robbery in about six months on our corner.
So much for thinking Duboce Triangle (or the Castro) was safer than the Mission.

Yeah, I think we've learned our lesson.
Renter's insurance was on our "To Do" after we moved into the new place, but we hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Our landlord lives in the building. We left him a message but haven't talked directly to him yet. He's a really laid back guy and very open to us doing improvements to the place, so if we install some security features I think he'll definitely credit us for it.

oh no! this sucks so much. i've had my house robbed and they stole my then brand new laptop. my insurance covered it, but for MONTHS i tucked its replacement in my closet every time i went to bed or left the house.
it will take time, but eventually you'll feel safe again. sorry julie- big hugs out to ya!

im so sorry to hear(read) that! i don't think i'd be able to sleep at night either. having stuff taken from my purse from right under my nose tweaked me enough. ::hugs::
