Yes, I cooked the filling before I put it in the batter. The fish was diced fairly small, so it didn't take long to cook.

There used to be a Taiyaki shop in San Mateo, I don't know if it's there any more.

Sweet Breams is still there, gromflaith took me there for nutella filled fishies a few weeks ago. OMG, they were good.

There were 2 fishies left on the platter when I wandered by and I thought they were outrageously cute.

Ah ha! I thought they looked an awful lot like taiyaki. Yay for kitchen-based fun, especially when it turns out both tasty and almost as cute as you. ^__^ (Also, you're fun to sit with in court. I must do this more often.)
