Stress

Maybe it's because I'm out of practice.  Maybe it's because my time is being split between being a Mom and being a Stage Manager.  I feel like I'm constantly playing catch up with Oliver Twist.  When I stage managed before, I was usually ahead of the game.  Anticipating problems and planning things with ease.  But I feel so turned around working on ( Read more... )

Pumping is a pain, it's annoying, and sometimes makes you want to beat someone to death with your pump (not that i've ever been there ;-)) but what you are doing is *so* great for Logan. You are an amazing mama for making the time to pump, even when work is wicked stressful. Once this show is over, definitely get yourself a massage, you deserve it! :)

Thanks Tara. I don't regret pumping for Logan...I just hate it. It makes stage managing more stressful because there is NEVER any downtime at a rehearsal, but I have to excuse myself to pump during breaks. Which means, I get no break. Breaks are where I collect and organize my thoughts and notes from what we've covered so far. So I come back from break feeling behind and like I missed something.

But really, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I think this post is more of a rant about work than a rant about being a breastfeeding mommy.

I just never thought it would be this hard to do BOTH.

I'm dreading tech weekend. Ugh

I know it was more of a work rant, but I also know that nursing/pumping isn't making it any easier so I thought I would tell you that you are amazing anyway :)

I am guessing you have an electric pump (if not, it would totally be worth the investment) but do you have a hands free pumping "bra"? I got one for pumping at work, and it made a world of difference...it meant I could sit and read, or go over notes, or even eat while I was pumping, which helped the feeling that I was constantly behind the 8 ball.

It's always good to be reminded that we're doing the best for our kids. :)

I do have an awesome pump...but I need to get one of those hands free pumping bras. Sounds like it'd be very helpful! Thanks!
