Jared Padalecki's New Film

Mar 30, 2008 14:00

OK, I for one am so excited for Jared to be in Friday the 13th. I know some people are moaning and groaning the fact that he is doing "another" horror film. However, I don’t think that is a problem. Lets start by going into the past shall we?

Jared has only been in one horror film, "House of Wax". People tend to think "Cry Wolf" Is a horror, but it ( Read more... )

I love horror movies, and Jared Padalecki, so I'm super excited that he's doing Friday the 13th. Does the Thomas Kinkade film have a release date? I can't wait to see that one either! :)

I'm looking forward to it, but from the overall nature of the talkback from the fanboys on Ain't It Cool News (aicn.com), there's not much enthusiasm about this. Some are pissed off because it's yet another Friday the 13th, others are complaining because it's not even a sequel, but a re-imaging. Some don't like the director or the production company. I liked their "re-imagining" of Texas Chainsaw Massacre (this was the one with Matthew McConnaghey and Renee Zellweiger. I liked it better than the original ( ... )

I actually am excited that its a re-imagining of the original. I think just another sequil would turn people off and just another remake would do the same.

Thomas Kinkade has a huge cult following, people would no doubt flock to see this film.

Each one of these films have a fan base already, add in Jared's fan base and it will be amazing. These two movies are great because they already have fans. You know Friday will be number one the first weekend it opens!

I hope you're right! It will be interesting to see what the reaction will be when the number counters realize there's an unusually large proportion of females at the Friday the 13th movie? "Huh, how did that happen?"

LOL that is another thing that this will do for him. Build his male fan base. He has a lot of male fans already, but you are right. Teeny bopper girls, and women of all ages do love Jared.

I'm not too excited about the re imagining of the Friday the 13th movies - but for Jared I will brave it. I was a little disapointed in the Holloween remake but it was still good (just not as good as the origanl)

I have to say that he hasn't done all that many horror movies, only House of Wax really. And he has been verbal about LOVEING horror. I just hope the movie dosn't let him down (if that makes any sence) I mean if I got called to star in lets say a remake of Nightmare on Elmstreet I'd be like 'hell yeah' before I even read it and I can almost see him doign the same thing.

I cannot agree with you more.

People seem to think he is nothing but horror, but he is so well rounded. I am so excited to see him get some leading roles - he deserves them so much & we all know he will be amazing in them.

He's not an idiot, he doesn't pick one style of film, and he doesn't limit himself. He has already explored a fair range of films with his small roles, and we can see as you said that he is showing the same diversity in the films he is choosing to lead.

God bless him, i'm so glad he's such an even-headed being.

I know, Jared is one of the most well rounded actors I have ever seen. He can play a ass hole jock in Cry Wolf. Then be the only likable person in House of Wax. He is so diverse, and I am also very excited and proud of him for getting these lead roles.

Besides that, he said when he leaves Supernatural after season five, he wants to focus mainly on Dramatic Films and do some action, and romance/comedy on the side of that. If Jared wants to do that, then he will. He is so amazing and will be able to do anything he wants. I for one, am very glad to have become a fan now, so I can appreciate his journey with him, instead of when his starring movies come out.

As a Jared fan, I support him no matter what. He knows what he wants to do, he wants to change peoples lives, touch them with his art, and he is doing a great job so far. Imagine what he will be able to do, now that he is a hollywood leading man.
