And there was much rejoicing!

Quentin Tarantino finally got here! This makes me happy.

Speaking of happy, I wanted to post here my response to Jesse Biel's post about happiness being in the moment.

Thank you for this post, Jesse! I think you've hit on one of the most important aspects of happiness. It's not in the big things, but the little things. I would paraphrase your ( Read more... )

when all four cats lay on me at once

I know exactly what you mean. I love it when I come home and my doggies are waiting by the door. As soon as I come in they playfully tackle me. Oh, I miss them.

Can you edit that to "...show up and stay around," please?

You only live once, and you may only have one chance to experience certain things. Live in the moment and, while you will end up participating in several fairly stupid activities, you will always be happy.

Done.

I was talking with Tim Roth last night about why people often don't stick around, and from talking with some people who aren't too active, I think part of it is because not all that many people talk to them. Even people who everyone knows and lots of people requested.

Here's one of my favorite poems. It's by e.e. cummings

i like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite a new thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body. i like what it does,
i like its hows. i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh . . . . And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill

of under me you quite so new
