Well, here we are ... a month out. Things are okay. I'm really getting ready to not be pregnant anymore. Lack of sleep, not being able to tie my shoes, retaining so much water that my feet look more comfortable than my pillows (if only I could reach them) ... it's all getting a little old. Good to hear an update on how you guys are doing. Jen, you sounnd like you're doing an awesome job of hanging in there. There's a woman at my school who's about the same stage of her pregancy and she's sick of it too. I think I would be fucking scary pregnant--I'd probably still try to play elbow tag all the time and get all ticked off when I couldn't. I do have to ask though--are you guys naming the baby Katie? That would be very exciting! (Not that having a baby isn't exciting, but I do have a particular fondness of that name, though I would never personally be permitted to name my child that.)

Hi Katie,
Yes, indeedy ...her name is Kathryn Riley Brown. It seems awfully formal to call a little baby Kathryn, so for now she's going by Katie. We really wanted a name that would let her choose what she wanted to go by (that's one of the things I liked about my name all these years ...) so when she's young she can go by Katie, when she's feeling mature and sophisticated, she can go by Kathryn, etc. And we know cool people named Katie! :)

Hey, it's dad... I hear the discomfort from the water retention, and I hope it gets better for you soon. On the other hand, your emoticon says that you are feeling "drained". :-)
