SF_D - wut happen?

So, can someone please tell me who I should and shouldn't like in sf_d now? It gets hard to keep up sometimes

Bestapples: a comm started to be a chat-style comm only non-anon, because the people who thought of it were fed up with the trolling in anon. Other people were invited, who it was thought may like to join in with this. There was other, unrelated, drama which was based around a smiliar type of moderated membership comm, which led to people talking about ba, some people deciding we were all bitching about everyone in secret, and a load of people trying to join who were mostly rejected.
At some point after I went to bed last night, it exploded, though I don't know what happened. Caps were posted to anon, and obviously there must have been something in them that led to more drama, because in all honesty, last time I looked in there we were mostly talking about food. Oh, apart from when I said I loved my co-mods because they were awesome and dealt with stuff when I was out and things.
I do not understand most of it.

From what I can gather, there was transphobic abuse being posted in anon then someone mentions bestapples as if it were some super secret clubhouse where people are bitching about others etc etc etc. Mentions of bestapples were deleted quicker than the transphobia, bad on any other day but it was Transgender day of remembrance which made it worse.

So from what I've seen, there's a lot of spinning this into a big conspiracy theory. Not helped by stumbling apologies. So in other words, it all looks like one big clusterfuck :S

Yeah, I don't even know what happened with that, that's one of those things that happened when I was asleep. The two bits kind of merge together into one huge clusterfuck, though.

We really were mostly talking about food. :(

Why's that? Is it because it's too insensitive and prejudiced/humourless and PC now? (delete as appropriate)

I think, somehow, a mix of both? Which basically comes down to the place is incredibly hypocritical, piling on one person for saying something remotely offensive and then saying equally offensive things about something else. Plus I get tired of reading crappy write-ups of the same, like, three topics over and over again, buried under a bunch of really annoying off-topic posts, write-ups that rip off the style of much funnier, more successful write-ups, and so on.

At least there's been a significant decrease in the "WHY IS THIS NOT IN RAGE_FREE *repeat 50 times*" posts.

I dunno, I wouldn't be so quick to characterise the comm as just one bunch of people. There's certainly that element of people eager to prove their enlightenment, and consequently those that are eager to watch them slip up as seems to be the case here.

You know what? I was looking through some of the pics on facebook from friday. And as I was looking through them, I saw one and thought to myself "That girl looks JUST like Becky!" I wasn't there for long but YES! We should totally hit that place up next time!
