I picked up the reprint of The Extremist a week or so ago. It was a mini-series I missed out on reading when it was originally published so was glad to be able to read it finally, even if I did have to wait 17 years.

Anyhow, it's a great read but the back cover made me raise my eyebrow.

If the 'left wing' Democrats are in the White House, doesn't that make being a guntoting redneck 'the alternative' viewpoint in the States, at least in their eyes anyway..?!
