Well, at least one of my profs appreciated my idea of "unpacking" humor. If we "have to" unpack violence, why is humor left out? How many classes have you heard of or taken that have looked critically at humor? Racist and misogynist ideas persist in the form and it should be explored. Grrr Violence class! So.. googling Colombian comic books...I found a comic about the late Pope John Paul II who is reincarnated as a superhero who fights evil. :-D I am going to try to find this so I can write about it for my violence class. Its called "HomoPater."

So more drumming. I did go to the Brazilian drumming practice 2 Sundays ago. It was pretty cool. Played the ai-go-go, a metal instrument with two bells. You hit with a typical drum stick. It was loud as hell-12-15 people in a tiny room on snare drums, bass drums and so forth. They seemed cool so I plan to go back when I'm available on Sunday. Sadly ( Read more... )

So weekend was pretty good. Friends, Tool and I went rock climibing. It was swell. I suck but I did manage to get up a few easy ones. :) I likey. Work icky.
