Floods in Australia

Its been a sad, grim few weeks with the massive flooding in Queensland and now Victoria. The shock of the 'inland tsunami' through near neighbour Toowoomba, the search for the missing through the devastated valleys and once more seeing the Brisbane River in spate has been distressing ( Read more... )

I'm glad you posted! I've been worrying whether you were affected by the epic and horrible floods. You're from Brisbane, right? I'm very glad to hear you're high and dry.

Hi Meryl. Yes, I'm from Brisbane. Its been a very wet few months with the ground completely saturated. The Brisbane River has flooded before and will flood again - so not totally unexpected - what happened in Toowoomba and the Lockyer Valley though was - a very frightening night for those in peril.
