i'm pretty sure i went through withdrawals waiting for this. hahaha!
i love this chapter. i do, i really, really do.
is it bad that i really like DK in this chapter. i feel sorry for him. he's so lost. and messed up. and that whole part were he says that he couldnt stand to be in another funeral was so sad... but for some reason this line cracked me up: And even Duncan, as lost as he was to reality, couldn't quite convince himself that a funeral was entertaining.
wallace! oh wallace! i can see why you had to have wallace find out about l and v last chapter. you needed him in this one. very cool. totally loved the whole wallace thing. brilliant.
and of course... logan and veronica. i'm speechless. so beautiful. bravo.
when does wallace help out keith? i mean isnt he a basketball stud or something? i dont know when basketball season is big... so.... i was just wondering.
Well, in middle school, basketball season ends around Feb. 1 every year and I think this takes place about mid-February (was my impression), so he had more time on his hands than usual. :-) (I don't teach high school, so I have to base all references a little younger.) Hee!
erm... not to be annoyingly nit-picky, but wasnt the bb season still going on during Betty and Veronica? doesnt that episode come after uh, this episode?
i actually have no idea about the time line of VM as i acually watched s1 marathon style... hehe. :D
Do you know, that's why I planned on combining it with Mars v. Mars? I never liked the episode, either. And then it turned into this, so there you go. :-) I'm glad you liked it!
And I love Wallace. It was awesome to give him some attention. :-)
Even though I bug you for updates all the time, I'm glad you waited until the chapter felt right to you :) I loved that Veronica waited for him in the pool house so she could serve as his life preserver whenever he felt like he was drowning. It was also great that Wallace helped out Keith and enough of Veronica had rubbed off on him that he didn't just accept that the kidnapper was stupid. I'm also glad that even Duncan didn't want to 'feed off' Logan's pain and he seemed to realize that it was the love and happiness and even some of the other emotions that he wanted to live vicariously through Logan and Veronica...Maybe he'll be willing to try and stop the meds and start feeling for himself again...Great chapter! :)
Even though I bug you for updates all the time, I'm glad you waited until the chapter felt right to you :) Knowing how much you wanted an update, that is *truly* a compliment. :-)
I think that Wallace was always asking himself what Veronica would think and going from there.
Ah, Duncan. What a conflicted guy. Interesting things coming!!
Thank you for your wonderful comments as always!! :-)
Wallace solved Yolanda's case--I loved that. I loved seeing him interact with Keith, too.
And now you have me actually feeling sorry for psycho Duncan. Using Logan & Veronica to shield himself from memories of Lilly and not being able to go to the funeral. I can't wait to see if that will change his attitude towards them at all.
I'm not sure if this was intentional (and I don't think I want you tell me if it was!), but you really got me thinking during all the pool house scenes, considering the cameras we know to be there...
And I saved the best for last: Logan & Veronica. I love how seeing what a difference having Veronica makes for Logan. His confusion that she was actually sticking around was perfect and heartbreaking. Poor, poor Logan. I'm so glad Veronica is there for him in this universe.
And a nice twist on how Logan asks Veronica to find his mother. I was wondering how you'd work that in and I really like what you did. I'm looking forward to seeing the investigation plays out!
I know, I wanted to just irrationally hate Duncan and then he goes and gets all sympathetic. Sigh...
What pool cameras? What was that? Hmmm? I'm sorry, did you say something? *laughs* Really, though, I can't say anything.
My favorite thing about their relationship is that they're really there for each other. To me it's more interesting to have couples work through their issues than to have them fight all the time.

I completely agree with that and I really wish tv shows would follow this policy (I haven't gotten too frustrated with Veronica Mars yet, but I think there's a certain point where you just have to let a couple be happy.)
One of the things I love about your fic is that Logan and Veronica are happy. Granted, they have lots of problems (and they don't even know about psycho Duncan!), but they love each other and our willing to work at their relationship. That's such a nice thing to see. :)
That's my approach. I'm glad it's working. :-) The challenge is to keep up the suspense and conflict without sacrificing the relationship that they've built. Yay!

I love how Wallace helped out Keith and got to bask in the rap world. He totally
deserved some spotlight.
Duncan is a nut case as always.
Good work, can't wait for more.
