Which brand of foundation do you use?

Sheesh...I applied foundation and blusher for barely two consecutive days and I already see the start of a rash breakout on my face. Does anyone know of any foundation which is suitable for sensitive and oily skin? I'm using Prescriptives now, coverage is good but looks like I can't use it that often. Recommendations, anyone?

Or maybe I ( Read more... )

Thanks for sharing! I'm too lazy and broke to go round searching for the brand that suits me, have decided over the weekend that I'm not going to put foundation to work, have to live with a shiny face. =(

but do you know the cause of your sensitive skin? like i know mine is eczyme (atopic dermatitis) so i have to steer clear of the triggers like lanolin and some very strong artifical chemicals.

Not sure of the cause, I have been to a couple of dermatologists and all they said was I have sensitive skin, but they did not ask me to steer clear of anything. One of them did say that it's best not to put foundation though as it would clog up all my pores.

My friend's using Biotherm, and both of us concluded that coverage is quite bad despite its rather hefty price tag. But well, it's ok, I decided I should listen to my skin and don't put make-up to work.

I use Mac but I must confess that I try to avoid makeup (esp foundation) as much as possible 'cos I dont want to spoil my complexion. Are you cleaning the foundation off properly? Cos sometimes it may be due to the fact that there's residual foundation clogging up your pores and causing the rash because of the foreign objects that your face is not used to. I usually scrub 2x whenever I use my foundation.

I'm a firm believer in proper make-up removal too. But I doubt my problem lies in make-up residue, the face was itching when I had foundation on, so i believe i'm sensitive to the foundation. Anyway I have read that Mac's coverage is really good but it's not conducive for oily skin. I remembered you have pretty good skin, there's no need for make-up anyway! =)

hi, i have sensitive and oily facial skin too. I am currently using ZA foundation. Hasnt been causing problems so far. I've also tried In2It foundation. Quite okay too. Hehee.... as u can see, i go for those cheapo foundation... no $$ to try out the more expensive brands out there.

*just my two cents*

We have the worst skin combi don't you think? I really envy people whose face doesn't shine all the time. Looks like ZA is quite a popular brand. Shall keep it in mind when I buy foundation in future, and it's affordable too, which is good. Thanks for sharing! =)

Perhaps you can buy some anti-shine moisturiser to try or something? I used to have very bad oily and shiny problems... then I read somewhere that, by washing my face too often, with strong cleansers, doesn't make the oil or shine go away. In fact, it'd make the problem worse. The best way is to balance is out with proper skincare of cleanse, tone and moisturise. The last step is very very important. Especially since we work in aircon conditions, the skin gets very dry. So more oil is produced to balance out the dryness.

I think you should invest in proper skincare first and not just use cosmetics to "disguise" whatever problems you'll have.

Yup, I do cleanse, tone and moisturize. Using a new set of skincare products right now, it's not amazing, but it doesn't make my skin any worse, so I shall stick to it for the time being.

Pretty interested in SKII lately, do you want to be my sponsor? =)

Hahaha... I can't even afford to sponsor myself... what do you think? But are you sure SKII products will suit your skin?

What brand are you using now?
