I do not hope to see such articles again...

This is outrageous and the fact that such thinking still exists truly saddens me. And if I did not remember wrongly, it seems like not too long ago, a similar article was posted in ST Forum or TODAY as well ( Read more... )

aiyo, i was emitting smoke when i read his article. His idea might work many years ago where the guy have solid iron ice-bowl. Now, retrenchments are happening all the time, jobs are not secure at all. I have to agree wholeheartedly with u on this point that having ONE SINGLE breadwinner is NOT enough! Miscommunications will arise if one is working and one at home. Someone must revoke what he said, this is ridiculous!

Trust me, we won't be the only ones emitting smoke. Bet there's going to be a huge ruckus after this. I'm really interested to see the responses.

u know, i just marked a comprehension for sec2 express chinese and the article is about household accidents is on the rise cos mothers are going out to work and leaving the kid to less responsible nannies and grandparents! Solution? Women should go back home and take care of kids! Wah lao, so mad when I marked it. Why the hell choose this kind of passage to do compre!

I go back home becos i CHOOSE to stay home and shake leg, give some tuition, work from home so I can fund my facials/trips/shopping sprees. Not becos MEN tells me I shld be cooking etc at home!

hey..i read it too! I was INCENSED!!! The editor of Today must be outta his (i'm sure it's a he) mind too when he decided to publish the letter!

Anyway i think he really couldn't substantiate his argument well, his illustrations for each of his point were flawed, lacking in empirical evidence. Anyone can turn around and say that if women really did stay at home, the difference and gaps in thinking between the husband and wife would lead to miscommunication or no communication and inadvertently lead to divorce again. So his statements are at best over-generalized,and at worst rubbish! *haha*
