A Yuletide celebration for a pair of brothers

Dec 24, 2014 07:51

Happy Birthday to both Ryoma and Ryoga-sensei. I hope it was a very enjoyable one, especially with the help of the party Tomoka made for you both. She worked very hard to put together everything she thought you would enjoy, and even outdid herself from last year for it, so I hope you both ended up liking what she worked on putting together ( Read more... )

Thank you for the birthday wishes, Kuwahara-kun! Ryoma and I certainly appreciate all of the hard work that went into it.

(ooc: Ryoga will help clean up for sure :) And he will call Jackal by his first name when asked. He's new so he doesn't know. Not intending to offend or anything!)

It's just Jackal, sensei. I was raised in Brazil so being called by my family name still feels weird no matter how many years I've been here. Though in your case, if you prefer me to call you Echizen-sensei instead, I will. I try my best to keep with customs, but it just sounded a little awkward in writing with me mentioning your brother as well, who I do call by his given name, but I don't wish to sound rude to you at all.

I'm glad you enjoyed the birthday festivities, though. I'm sure Tomoka will be delighted knowing that the newly arrived brother of Ryoma was happy with what she put together for you both.

[OOC: And right back at him, if Ryoga wishes Jackal to refer to him a certain way, he will. Though since I figured he had a bit of an American accent when he spoke with Jackal, he assumed Ryoga wouldn't be as bothered by being called by his given name.]

Oh! What part of Brazil, Jackal? I spent a great deal of time in the Amazon. If you decide to take my class, you should call me Echizen-sensei during lessons. Outside of that, I don't care too much. Be careful until you know, ne? I don't recommend using "Sumire-sensei".

Very delighted. I'll tell her as much in person when she wakes up.

(ooc: No accent, since he prefers to use Japanese when he can. He can speak English though :) . He doesn't really care, the combo first name-sensei was just kind of surprising)

I'm from São Paulo. Liberdade, if you want to get specific. I was a city kid, so I've never visited Solimões (the Amazon to you foreigners, but you might know better already since you've actually visited it). I always wanted to, though. Maybe some day I'll go back home and visit it like any Brazilian wishes to do in their lifetime.

I'll keep that in mind. But no, I'm not about to call the Headmistress by her given name. I might prefer to be informal with others when possible, but I'm not stupid. Even in Brazil you wouldn't go talking to such a person like that.

[OOC: No accent? Figured he would have a Florida one after spending so much time there. >> But whatever works for him. And yeah, Jackal knows that was weird, but he wanted to still politely call him sensei even though it seemed awkward to him to call him by his family name. XD;]

You're always such a darling, Jackal. Thanks for all the help. And I suppose I did actually need the rest so it's greatly appreciated. Though I still feel bad for not helping with the cleanup...

You always overwork yourself this time of the year. I've kind of gotten used to the results due to it. But you did so even more this year with all the unexpected new arrivals here. You were understandably exhausted because of it. I wasn't about to let you end up passing out in the middle of trying to clean things up here as a result. You were more than overdue for the rest. So don't feel bad for actually getting that rest. I'm sure everyone else will tell you the same, and we were more than capable of cleaning things up.

Oh hardly, there's so much more I could do! But I was gone from camp so long before that I couldn't prepare even more. Next year will go a lot more smoothly~ But thank you for everything Jackal.

You're welcome, but I still think you shouldn't push yourself quite so much. I know you want to make everyone happy, but I'm sure they would understand if you ended up taking some time to take care of yourself as well.

With all the decorations and Tomo-chan's brilliant work, I think this year's celebration topped last year's.

I'd definitely have to agree on that, and Tomoka truly outdid herself this year as well. Though I think she overworked herself even more to make that happen. As much as I adore her efforts, she always worries me during this time of the year since she never gets enough rest like she should. And that's taking into mind that she had help from several of us. She's almost as bad as Sada when it comes to not taking rest when she should when she gets that busy. ...Almost.
But I was delighted to see what she brought us nonetheless. She works so hard to make everything look wonderful for us each year.

The whole of camp could be helping her and she'd still exhaust herself. Which just goes to show how absolutely lovely she is.

True enough. So I suppose I'm just destined to keep doing far too much worrying over her each holiday season no matter what we try to do to help her. And that's on top of all the usual worrying I do for her throughout the rest of the year. Sometimes I wonder if she takes enjoyment from making me dote upon her so much. ...Wait. Scratch that. I'm pretty sure she does find it funny at this point. I swear, if I actually had hair, I'm sure it would end up turning grey before long as a result.

I hope you end up enjoying the holiday~ I'm sure it's not easy having a birthday right before another big celebratory day.
