So, Superman Returns. Good movie? Yes, it has a fantastic first act, but suffers greatly from a wandering plot in the second half. Without giving away too many spoilers, the threat at the climax seems rather too abstract to actually feel likes there's any danger. Mind you, both Brandon Routh (Superman/Clark Kent) and Kevin Spacey have got the ( Read more... )

Kevin Spacey was a fantastic Lex Luthor. FANTASTIC. A lot better than that idiot from the first few movies.

I thought the whole Superman Goes To The ER thing was really, REALLY corny. I laughed my ass off when that scene first opened. The cheese factor was through the roof.

And when Lois Lane's big secret was revealed...I screamed in my head, "TRAMP!!!" OMG what she's doing to that guy she's engaged to is just....eereghehgrhg! Ugh that makes me so mad! That's so WRONG! I want to slap her in the face!

She was such a snot, too.

And I really don't know how she didn't break her neck or back or pelvis...or SOMETHING while in that airplane. I mean...really.

But a good movie none-the-less. Better than X3: The Last Stand. *shudders at the thought*

OMG I am so excited you love movies, I can sit and chat with you about them! XD I love people who are equally brutal with them as I am! *high five*

Well, I'm not a movie expert, but I certainly know what I do and don't like!

Gene Hackman was Lex Luthor in the previous movies, but you're right; Spacey was a superior Luthor, he got the character much better than Hackman, who over-acted to much.

To be fair on Lois though, I think she didn't realise her boy was Superman's kid until a while after she got engaged, if at all.

And why didn't she get snapped in half during the plan crash? She was being knocked around like she was in a pinball machine!

I would have given it a 3 out of five, mainly due to the anti-climatic ending. It partialy made me wish that the Metallo rumour was true! Mind you, anything is better than X3!

Home Girl should have had a femur broken in about 8 places at least. I mean...good grief. Or a bruise or something! Then later in the film she meets back with her fiance and he asks, "you ok?" And she's all like "yeah I'm cool!" Hahaha I just shook my head at that.

Aaah, the power of film. /=

Oh man, how'd you like what they did to Magneto in X3? I am not sure if you are a comic book fan or not, but I was really into it when I was a kid, and I was appalled! They really watered his powers down, too. Magneto can do some amazing stuff and in this movie he was just...lame. And why did Jean Grey look like she walked out of a Japanese horror film?

Nope, I'm not really a comic fan, I just can't seem to get into superhero comics. But didn't Magneto lose his powers in the comics, or something? As for Jean Grey, I bet all they told Famke Janssen to do was just stand there and look broody all the time! Ripping off Japanese horror films is all the rage at the moment.
