Giving blood

Oct 10, 2006 22:14

Not to boast or anything, but I donated blood yesterday! I was nervous at first, but got over quickly enough. The blood sample they take just before you're hooked up was worse than the actual donation!

Oh, and sorry to everyone for not posting in ages, nothing particularly exciting has been happening in my life just recently.

There's no way I'd give blood, unless I had to. I hate needles!! And I like my blood where it is.

I was wondering what happened to you. You need to get out more and do stuff, so you can come in here and talk about it. =P

Well, I was never too keen on them either, really, but it isn't that bad, you don't actually feel the needle in your arm at all. Plus you get a drink and something to eat afterwards. Mind you, a friend of mine at work said he could never do it, and he's covered in tattoos! Getting one of those done is worse than giving blood in my opinion.

Sorry! I'm more of a supporting character than anything. Work has been mad just lately, coming up for Xmas, so I haven't really been able to do much, I'm afraid.

I've heard stories there the nurse couldn't find the vein and had to poke around for it. They said it was the worst thing ever and got a big bruise from it. After hearing that, I said no thank you! Though, I should probably get it done to find out what blood type I am.

I never understood why everyone has to get ready for Christmas in the middle of October. We still have Halloween and Thanksgiving to get through. One holiday at a time people!! Though, you guys don't have Thanksgiving. But still, it's not even winter yet! I went over to the Dollar Store, yesterday, and they already had their Christmas decorations out.

It depends if your veins are prominent! Good job mine was already visible. Honestly, it's not that bad, you should try it!

Personally, I think October is earliest you should start selling stuff for Xmas, but people should wait until November to actually start to advertise for it. One place in Australia last year was selling Xmas stuff in August! That really was overkill!
