For the record, that Newsweek list was a pile of shit. Do you know how they figured out the list? Number of AP classes taken divided by number of graduating seniors. All you'd have to do to get on that list is have all your kids take a bunch of bogus AP tests that they're not prepared for. The widely recognized two best schools in the country, Andover (not the one around here) and Exeter, were not even on the list.
yeah, my parents want me to go to IA too. no offense to those kids, but i would rather have a normal high school experience. not that all kids who go to seaholm are the shiznit, but a lot of IA kids are misfits (except for tiffany and carolyn of course). thanks but no thanks.
Jeez! Will you all stop trashing my school? When have I ever trashed Seaholm?! The list was ratio based, but in order to even be considered for evaluation Newsweek also requested various other stats. There are a lot of other schools that have similar ratios that weren't even considered for evaluation! If you honestly believe that the stats are so bogus, why don't you visit our school for a week? I'm sure you would love the all-IB (not AP) curriculum, 150 community service hours and 6 out-of-school enrichment requirements, mentorship requirements, 30 hours of IB testing, and all academic classes (no electives whatsoever). Not to mention we only have a 6-week summer break (which we must spend writing a 4000 word extended essay), I'm sure none of you are going back August 11th! The honor of being the #1 school in the US may be nice, but every single student in our school has had to work their ass off for 4 years to earn it. Please don't trash them after all their hard work. And also, no offense Lizzy, but Caroline and I are probably the
( ... )
IA is a place for freaks who have no friends anywhere else, or there parents are pyschos and are culture freaks whom either search for diversity and "academic excellence" its not like seaholm and other kids dont have to do work over the summer.....there's this thing that we have...its called flex i dont know if you IA kids have ever heard of it but umm yeah most of the summer is devoted to your project and research paper. as far as IB goes, yes it is one of the only schools in the area that offer it but what is the point? if you want that much college cerdit the you shouldnt be in high school, plain and simple. commuinty service hours are nothing compared to the ones that marian's MACS program requires. IA is a bunch of rich pompus brats who flant themselves, but in reality have no inttelluctual capacaity and will have no advantages in the real world. FUCK NEWSWEEK!
hello faceless coward!!! :) IA is far from " a bunch of rich pompus brats who flaunt themselves"...actually, pretty much every student at our entire school is poorer than any Seaholm student, and if you think that "IA is a place for freaks who have no friends anywhere else, or there parents are pyschos and are culture freaks whom either search for diversity and 'academic excellence'", then I challenge you to do a little research. I bet you have never visited our school, or talked/met any of our students. If that's your opinion of our school then maybe you should reevaluate who the "pompus brat" is. I'm not saying that other schools don't have a rigorous curriculum, but don't you dare say that IA doesn't. And: "in reality have no inttelluctual capacaity and will have no advantages in the real world" - I'm not even going to comment on that, you really, really are clueless. It's just laughable. -Tiff
p.s. Intellectual is spelled I-N-T-E-L-L-E-C-T-U-A-L, not inttelluctual. Ironic, isn't it? haha
"IA is a place for freaks who have no friends anywhere else"
Let's start there. first of all, people at the IA do have friends at their home high schools. By looking at your "comment" I think that you are just jealous that you didn't come to the IA. I'm sure Seaholm is a fine school, but that doesnt make IA a bad school. There are so many fallacies in your logic that it makes your argument basically unreadable. Try again.
