I have been at sea for several weeks and I see that I have a great deal of catching up to do.

In the meantime, I have been given the following unpleasant fortune from what I suspect to be an unscrupulous fortuneteller.

Well, as long as she isnt named Amanda Smith, I think you are quite safe, dear Captain!

Miss Smith did cause a great deal of trouble and grief, but I am afraid that in the eyes of the Admiralty, anyone named "Captain Hook" would be a far more serious offense...and I have heard that this man is no captain, but a pirate! Fortunately I now understand that someone has been showing away at my expense, for it is impossible that we should have 76 children.

My dear, I believe we can safely disregard this. I cannot see you and Captain Hook having any children by each other, at the very least.

Yet I read that this Hook is captain of a ship that flies, and has had dealings with an intelligent crocodile. (Before you ask, Stephen, the answer is no, we shall not have time to stop to search for it.) Do you think it is possible that I might father 76 children over the course of my life? Perhaps I should be the father of a country, the way the Americans refer to that Washington fellow!

To think I expected you of all men to appreciate my stamina, brother!

Dear Jack -- I most certainly do appreciate your stamina. The entire situation outlined above, however, is... well, vaguely ridiculous at best, wouldn't you say?

You find that situation ridiculous, yet not the fact that you have apparently travelled through time to visit my ship? You are not jealous, are you, my dear?

*76* children!?

Damn, you're pretty fertile aren't you?

But since both you and Hook are the same gender, how the hell is that going to happen?

I certainly hope not in the usual manner, considering that Hook is a pirate and a tyrannical one at that! I would not wish to be hooked...ha, ha, ha.

I don't think that the Royal Navy would offer any sort of maternity leave for Captains.

Maybe it means you two will have a few wives apiece and that's how?

Wouldn't Sophie have a few things to say about that though?

I see that by marrying you I should have lived a very long and wealthy life! But would you truly wish to bear 29 children, my dear?
