I don't know the situation, and I hardly have any background to be giving relationship advice. But I can say that if you feel you did the right thing, then you did the right thing. But I also know that doesn't mean it can't still be difficult to deal with, especially when it's fresh.

From experience, it's pretty hard knowing the right thing was done by ending a relationship. I ended my previous 5-year one by initiating it from a steady decline of crap. I'd say the first two months of that were the hardest, coping with being alone and whatnot. Mainly cause, I was at home by myself in my hometown a lot. I mainly drew and tried to just try new things out to cope a bit, but nothing can replace time on that I think, as shit-suck as that is. The worst parts before me initiating everything happened during finals, so I can somewhat relate there. Complete distracted mess, I was ( ... )
