Last night was the Panic! show...I met Brendon Urie...and I fangirled...and got hard (not literally of course)....may have jizzed a little though...JOKING. or am I?

June 2nd, 2011 was probably one of the best and most stressful days of my life. I woke up at 8:00 am to be able to get ready and be dressed to leave. I had told my rides previously the day before, that leaving at 12 noon would be ludicrious. It's a four hour drive to Norfolk, VA and leaving that late in the day meant we'd hit traffic. I had said to Jeremy (the driver), that we need to leave no later then 10:30. I explained I had a meet and greet and duties to the record label that needed to be taken care of.
By yesterday morning, it was clear, that non of that seemed to mean anything to him.
He picked me up at 11:30 am...we drove half way across town to pick someone up...who wouldn't answer the phone, wouldn't answer, wouldn't answer...until 12:00 (we had, at this point, been sitting there already for about twenty minutes) and I was getting incresingly more stressed/upset.

Finally, at 12:04...the guy calls and starts apologizing about how he slept through his alarm and yadda yadda yadda. So we're like “Fine whatever, get your ass out here so we can go!” Well he gets out there...but then we have to go to the bank. Which took yet another 10 minutes. Then from there....one of the guys who was with us in the car, had to go all the way back to his house on the other side of town to drop cash off. So by the time we're getting gas, it's about 10 to 1, we still haven't left my town, in central VA to go out to the coast of VA. At one point when the boys were getting food and snacks, I started crying in the car when I called my mom. She wasn't happy.

But finally we get on the road and we're actually cruising along. I finally calmed down a little bit, got some reading done, and was trying to be positive about the whole thing. We didn't make stops on the way down, and finally the GPS was giving the positive update that our ETA was 4:45...the meet and greet said no later then 5 should you arrive. So I was feeling pretty positive. But then I guess all good things must come to an end. At around 4-ish...we hit traffic. It was backed up for 5 ½ miles...Slowly the GPS said ETA was 5:05, then 5:10, and then 5:18....and that's about the time I got to the venue.

I thought we'd never get out of the traffic and I texted my friend who was at the show and asked her to find out from Zack if they were gonna go in right at five or if there would be a delay for stragglers. All Zack apparently responded was that I suck. Lol? (I never know how to handle him and the things he said because the last time I met him he was a bit mean...) Anyways....somehow...some magic....we got through the tunnel and the traffic was cleared up after that. We got into the city of Norfolk and finally found the venue. I ran out and my friends drove off, and I got in line with my friend. Zack checked me off the list and we were good to go.

Finally we were allowed to go into the Venue and we were led upstairs, where we heard Foxy Shazaam soundchecking. When they finally stopped Zack led us all through the rules....and it was when he got to the gifts that we all started laughing. He mentioned the rose vest bear that apparently someone brought. Just basically telling us to never spend a lot of money on gifts because the stuff gets thrown out eventually, but the example he gave was the rose vest bear....and we all couldn't stop laughing.

So finally, it's getting close to time and Zack comes back out and he says “I didn't want it to have to come to this, but Spencer isn't feeling well so he won't be here today.” We were pretty bummed about that...but I'd rather he rest and get better, then over do it by meeting fans. So then finally he led Brendon, Ian, and Dallon out and they all sat at these tables to sign. When it got to my turn the first thing Dallon said as he signed V&V for me was about my Rocky Horror shirt. He loved it and was saying how he needed one. I informed him they were on clearance at Hot Topic but the ones on sale were different from mine.
So I get to Ian, who also complimented my shirt and then I said “It's been two years since I saw you last!” and he goes “Oh where?” And I said “In harrisonburg VA.” And he kinda sat there, trying to think about it and I said “Y'all were touring with We the Kings.” He said he remembered, but was just trying to remember the venue so I said “It was a roller skating rink.” And his face lit up. He was super excited about that. So he signed V&V and I went on my way. In afterthought, I really wish I had brought up Stamps to him, the side project he had been involved with before he decided to make Panic! His main deal.
And then I got to Brendon, who again, complimented my shirt. I told them that I wore the shirt because I knew they liked the movie (or I might've said that to Dallon, don't remember.) and he was all “Yeah, it's an awesome movie!” So I handed him V&V to sign and then I handed him my copy of Razia's Shadow and just said “I was hoping you could sign this as well.” And he said “Yeah sure,” then I guess he actually saw what it was and was all “Oh cool!” So it made me think that maybe he doesn't sign a lot of Razia's albums...so that made me happy.
Before I left the table I handed him his card and he was all “Aww, thank you!” I wish I could've hugged him...stupid rules....ANYWAYS....

So after we got our stuff signed, we were told to form a second line so that when the first line ended we could get our pictures taken. Again when it finally got to me, I was walking over and the boys were goofing off. Ian was like doing some weird dance and I kinda stopped for fear of getting knocked over. Finally I took my place beside Brendon, with my arm wrapped around his back and Brendon was looking at Ian like “What are you doing?” and I just commented, “Yeah as he knocks me over.” And Brendon kinda laughed and was all “It happens.” So then Ian was on my other side...and well you may have seen the picture....

happy sigh

After that we all waited and then were allowed to go downstairs, where my friends and I ran at the barricade, so we all made it. Which made me pretty stoked. Especially at this venue, I don't like being in the crowd, I wanna be in the front of it at all times, and usually I am. So then finally, after what seemed like forever, the show started. Foxy was pretty crazy on stage....and there's sure to be some kind of side affects of a man eating lit cigarettes....But everyone was a great ball of energy and the whole time I'm trying to figure out where they fit in on a tour with The Young Veins. He also threw money at the crowd, then lit what was left, blew it out, and threw it at us. I have one of those dollar bills....not gonna use it though, because can you imagine trying to pass change with a dollar that's been burnt? Haha.

Then finally, Fun. Came on stage....who I've loved since last year when I saw them open for Paramore. So this was my fourth time seeing them, and they never once disappoint. I was stoked to hear they've already finished recording the new album and Nate promised they'd be back soon. They had a fill in bassist for this tour, who actually happens to be someone I know. Evan Winiker is the bassist for Steel Train, who is one of my favorite bands EVER. I've only seen them like...six times...and from the second time and on, Evan and Jack always recognize me at shows. Usually I wind up in front of Evan and he did finally spot me and kept smiling at me during the songs, as is his custom. He always does it at Steel Train shows I'm at, and last night was no different. So the set was awesome and I danced and jumped around and had...well...fun. OH THE PUNS. IT BURNS.

So then, at long last, Panic! took the stage. They were just as beautiful and glorious. Unfortunately with where we were sitting, it was almost impossible to see Spence, so if I upload pics of the band, the Spencer pics are gonna be in short supply. But I did get a lot of good ones of the rest of the band. After the first song, Brendon informed us that he cut his lip open and had Dallon kiss it better....Anyways...so the show went on, they had their antics and talked about how they make bad punny jokes with Fun's name as well...I got this super adorable picture of Brendon and Nate hugging...and I died of cuteness. They sang C'mon which made my life. All in all, the show was just one of the best of my life. They did Carry on My Wayward Son and Nearly Witches as the encore....and I was so glad that when brendon was still singing the main line of the song, I wasn't the only one who was singing “MONA LISA, PLEASED TO PLEASE YA.” hahaha. It would've been cool if it had caught on with the whole crowd, but alas, it didn't.

Anyways...so yeah, that was my life. Best.night.ever.

I also have video of Brendon singing "Always."
