Well, I'm home.

My first act upon waking up today was to con my sister into making fried bread. Then I pelted her with candy. Then we got jambha juice and an electric kettle.

It's all very uninteresting and dull, normal jetlaggy stuff. I got lots of lovely souvenirs. However, as my friends may I have noticed, I haven't been posting much (at all * ( Read more... )

Oh how I've missed you!!!

I don't think I would have had the same experience listening to Twilight as I did reading it. Reading it was way better. Everything...intonations, innuendos, characters, storyline, etc. all left to my imagination. No other filters or screens to skew my perception of the book. Does that make sense? Being a bit older, this book reminded me of those great Judy Blume books I used to read about first loves and other such experiences. I guess that is why I enjoy the series. Cue Barbara Streisand music here...
I don't really enjoy the love triangle aspect of the series, but I guess it is there to add to the plot. For me that gets old. I mean, I loved Buffy and Spike, don't get me wrong, but wasn't Angel supposed to be her true love? (And don't even get me started on Cordy and Angel.) It's not like she went outside the species or anything. This is just kinda out there. It's like Underworld meets 90210 or something.

Welcome back!

Haha, you're sweet!

I remember Judy Blume!

Oddly enough, the first Laurel K Hamilton book I read was also listened to.

Hey, at least Spike was an interesting character with hot and cold running sexy! Cordy and Angel do not count as it took place during season 4 and therefore does not exist.

Your analogy is brilliant, but I only vaguely know what either of those things are. I'd say it was like Anne Rice dumbed down a generation and written by the writers of Days of Our Lives. What you think?

Anne Rice WAYYYYYYY dumbed down with the writers of not only Days of Our Lives but also the writers of a Novella. hehehe
Underworld is about a vampire falling for a werewolf...90210 is basically about a group of high schoolers hooking up with everyone in the circle, very incestuous.
Not all at the same time, mind you...that would have been fun to watch!
I will agree with season 4. I like thinking it did not exist too...good one!
And let's look at the bright side. At least we get to see James on Torchwood being ever so sexy sans fangs. That works!

The Doctor Who finale made me miss Torchwood :(

I was in London for a few days last week and I took a tour bus, and they drove us by Canary Wharf, and all I could think was "They blew this up in Doctor Who..."

What do you think, more James next season?
