I also saw the first two episodes, and only the first two before I returned it, not holding out for Candice Bergen because they're so damn long. I didn't like the first one for obvious reasons and was marginally impressed with The Paul Simon Show.

See, I liked the first one because I like Carlin, although the comedienne toward the end (with her school gym class monologue) didn't impress me at all. The second one bored me because, frankly, I thought there was way too much Paul Simon (and Garfunkel for about four freaking songs). I did enjoy the basketball sketch Simon was in, though. But I like my SNL the way they've done it for the past 15-20 years, where the musical guest only performs twice, and where the host participates in the sketches.
