Not really, I guess. It was harder being Joey's little sister. A lot of Joey's friends were in the precinct I was at. Felt like I had this army of overprotective older brothers watching over me like I couldn't take care of myself.
Then there was all the fun undercover assignments. Nothing like spending weeks pretending to be a teenager to bust teenagers.
*looks over at him*
I bet it's pretty. Biloxi sounds like it'd be pretty.
I understand the sentiment. The way I was raise women were to be protected, cherished, looked after. I've had to..not so much change the way I think, but find a way to combine that thought with the one that says the can perform this job equally. Now I feel the best way I can look out for the soldiers in my command who happenn to be female is to teach them the skills to take care of themselve. When they are in uniform, they are equal. Out of uniform, I'm afraid the way I was raised takes over.
You didn't like that part of the job?
*pulls up to beach parks*
The Biloxi I grew in is far different than the one thats there now. There are casinos and highrises littering the beaches. It's more of a tourist spot. But I try to get home, see my grandfather, if I can get leave during the holidays. Hasn't happened in a few years.
*grabs the picnic basket, walks out to the tables with him*
I was raised not to lie. I'm pretty much a straight forward person. Having to spend weeks of my life at a time living a lie was uncomfortable.
I became a cop to help people. Not bust kids for dealing pot in school.
*sets up the table, laying out the plates and food*
I'm very protected. Three brothers and Trick is practically a fourth brother. But I can take care of myself. It's not like I can judge the need to protect. Someone screws with my brothers, Trick or someone I care about? I'm on them, faster than fast, you know?
*nods her head*
Los Angeles has always been touristy, but I like going home to the neighborhood. They still have block parties every now and then. You should come back with us sometime. Baseball games, cook outs...
No, Ma'am. I arleady had my half hour at the range this morning. Like I do..every morning. *with a smile* When was the last time you were at the range?

Sounds like an enjoyable time.

So you like your family, the neighborhood, work was good despite a few undesirable parts. Why come here to Sunnydale, in the middle of this situation?

If you need a practice round or something, I'll understand.
