A Letter and Roses

Who can this be?
Of dark hair, but not
Of dark heart.

Who can this be?
With twinkling eyes,
and face aglow.

Who can this be?
With smile to warm even
The coldest of winters.

Who can this be?
With laugh so heavenly,
that hearts grow light?

Who can this be?
It can only be Mayzie Bradley,
she who has my heart to command.

My dearest Mayzie, I have sent these dozen roses and this poem I wrote to you in the hope that you will leave the heavenly lands a Lady of your beauty and grace must reside to have a starlight dinner at the top of the Astronomy Tower with me, who numbers among those mortals enraptured by your immortal beauty?

Heart Faithfully Yours,

Jack Sloper, MI
