You are awkward, bordered not by crystal and brocade curtains and artillery, but by guileless, graceless space. There is so much of it here, oceans of it, you are still nervous as you light your cigarette, glance furtively backwards at Jersey, wave the smoke away - and there’s you are at fifteen, secreting away your dad’s whiskey, choking on the ( Read more... )

flassdlkjdk i adore nixon's way of smoking. it sticks it so hard in "points" when he, harry, and winters are talking about going to japan. priddy.

as for winters getting freckles on his shoulders - oh! that is so flipping adorable!

oh yeah. sparowette and i will tag team you. we're dangerous.

so very heartwarming. points is one of my favourite episodes just because we start to get comfy with the idea of these men as they might be at home, as opposed to soldiers. and because of winters swimming, but hey. that's a given.

I love it.

And I suck at analytic critique.

But I love it.

*watches you warily* My OTP will beat you. Someday. When you stop writing so well that it hurts me. *weeps*

The point of view is what gets me the most, really. It's so unique and flawlessly executed...it makes me squee something fierce.

Dick swearing was the greatest thing in the world. It broke me into pieces because...it was such a small thing. He knows exactly how to get to Nix, and it's just one of those little details that make the relationship even more interesting. Facets--gotta love 'em when they shine.

*shakes head* That's it, I give up--I've officially stopped resisting the Winnix shipping. Not my OTP...but damn if you all don't write it so well that I just wanna die.

MY otp's dad could beat up YOUR otp's dad.

Woo second person! I spent most of my life hearing that second person is the BAD pov and should be written, but for some reason it's so compelling in the BoB fandom. And I enjoy making Dick swear, having it be a personal project of Nixon's to corrupt him somehow. That, of course, is just ONE of the ways. -cackle-

w00t! another convert! thanks so much for the review, it warms me something fierce <3

Oh yeah? Oh yeah?! Well...YOUR MOM.

However that over-used joke goes. *facepalms* And I doubt your OTP's dad could beat mine--Pennsylvanian farmer and New Jersy businessman vs two guys from South Philly? Psh. I know who I'D be bettin' for in that fight.

With BoB, I think first/second person works well because half the episodes are narrated by one of the characters ANYWAY...so we're all pretty used to some outside voice telling us what's going on.

beautiful. such a feel for rhythm; writing like poetry, like song. but it's not just style; there is a real feel for the characters, there. it's not thick and heavyhanded. it's very deft.

awesome.
