She sets out a haunch of fresh deer to burn on the fire, and in another small firepit she pours sandalwood and myrh. Quietly she watches the smoke rise into the sky. Carefully, trying not to stumble over her words she speaks out loud to the evening air.
"Thank you oh great one for returning me this part of me that was - that was missing, lost. I do not know your name, nor do I know your people. But I appreciate what you did, truly."
"Just wanted to say thank you. There were a lot of other things you could have done with it, but you gave it back to me."
She sits on the ground and pulls a skull out of her backpack, cradles it gently. Holding it, she stares out into the gathering darkness. Watching, waiting until the wood and the deer flesh are gone.
