Well, as I have said, the momentum to Sim is returning just a bit. I have been taking a little too much advantage of the romance mod from MATY because, you see, Ariel, Fek'lhr and TK-365 are not my only trio of love!
Pixel_and_bean will enjoy this one.
What have Tatsuo and Yule been doing these days, you ask?
Well, Tatsuo has been amusing himself with some green-leafy friends, for one.
He threatens the lemon trees with recycling if they don't bloom their lemons.
And spends his time shedding and howling a bit.
Meanwhile, Yule is getting a bit of yoga and meditation in. It soothes his mind, body and soul...
... he's doing a bit of brushing up on his cullinary profession with the juicer.
... and a little Salmon recipe exploration, nevertheless, the benevolent/malevolent goddess continues to toss chance cards at Yule making him very unlucky in job promotions/demotions despite his budding talent.
And to Vidcund's surprise and Yule and Tatsuo's joy, a new neighbor finds his way into Strangetown.
"Hey, don't I know you from another universe, another life?"
The benevolent goddess takes little time in returning Akbar to his original hair style. (I was experimenting with a different style. What can I say?) and Yule approves of pixel_and_bean's Christmas gift to Strangetown: FurryJackal!
... as does Tatsuo!
It doesn't take long for the boys to move the luscious alien cuteness into their home and hearts. Yule and Akbar are still working on Tatsuo to lose the werewolf look, however.
Life is rather eventful for Akbar once he moves into the house, however. He discovers the rollercoaster ride early on.
"You wish to speak to Tatsuo? Hold on, let me get him..."
"Erm, he can't come to the phone right now. He's currently waging biological warfare on the aphids in our trees... and threatening the trees with lack of fruition."
........
"Why no, I don't think that's strange. Why do you ask?"
Bad timing hits the Illidrar household, however. When it's Sable's time to go, the repo man decides to pay a visit. (Money being tight and the goddess of 'kaching' forgetting to give them money to pay their bill brings this fate upon the boys. And yes, I am an ashamed goddess.)
Tatsuo is heartbroken. Sable was his faithful companion; the first born from Yule's first Newfies Kenai and Ursa (long since passed away).
Yule, clueless boy that he is somehow misses the entire reaper playing fetch incident and his first reaction, "Okay where'd the damned counter go?" It did finally hit him a few hours later that the dog was gone. Foolish boy. He wept over the newly added grave.
Needless to say, with two cats and three dogs gone to the rainbow bridge, the hauntings are getting a bit much for our trio of boys. The goddess decides enough is enough and it's time to give Strangetown a pet cemetery.
One by one the fuzzies scamper off to the Rainbow Bridge Restful Hills.
Tatsuo and Akbar were hit the hardest with the loss of Sable and the others so Yule decides to get new pets for them. First he tries his hand at catching fireflies. (Somehow I don't think that quite fills the void, Yule.)
Not on your life, Akbar wants a kitten. So a kitten he shall have! Enter Bailey!
Things seem to settle down a bit...
Until Akbar comes home from another dismal chance card demotion of doom handed down from their unlucky goddess. (Hit cancel, hit cancel, hit cancel!)
Poor Akbar, I'm so sorry about the demotion. I promise to hit cancel, next time. Here, how about a fish tank to cheer you up?
"There's no fish in the fish tank, benevolent goddess."
Uh.. yeah. Sorry about that. You see, it's like this, the creation methods I use (IE the computer) are a little behind, now, all that revisionist creationism theory has taken it's toll on your world and therefore... I am unable to provide fish any more now that your world has evolved beyond my computer's creative power. (In other words: The game evolved to a point that my cruddy video card can no longer produce fish in ponds and tanks)
"Wow, that's kind of crummy... can we have a new god with shiny, magical awesomeness?"
Um, well, actually, you're stuck with me and my substandard powers of creating your world.
It's about this point that Akbar begins to question his deity's powers, his lover, Yule's, cullinary skill and his other lover's sanity for talking to trees when he discovers the chili bowl sparkling with radioactivity.
"It's good for you, trust me!"
Akbar gives the bowl a doubtful look. "You can't even create fish in my world and you want me to trust sparkling fireworks in my food bowl?"
