Jack had looked up in puzzlement as Driscoll hurried out, Mary Anne hot on his heels. He made no move to follow, however; Mary Anne knew Jack better, and if it was something to make him run out in the middle of his own play, it was obviously very personal.

He's sitting back, just starting to mull over some of the messages in the play, when something pulls his attention to his surroundings; something that puts his senses on alert. Nothing that he noticed consciously, just something that awoke the instinctive fight-or-flight reaction in the recesses of his brain.

He focuses on the noises, the smells around him, waiting. Then he hears it: screaming, and a sudden, loud crashing.

In an instant, he's out of his seat and heading for the doors, not looking to see if any of his companions are following.

The sound of terrified cries only gets louder as he runs across the lobby and out into the street.

Silvia did not have as much training or experience as Jack. It didn’t mean she couldn’t hear the same noises she heard, and it didn’t mean it filled her with the same alarm. She follows Jack, disregarding the mutters and complaints from the other audience members.

When she reaches the street, she stops short. Times Square, and the chaos within it, is all too visible.

Raven tilts his head, listening to the noises for a minute.

Then he shrugs, standing and following both Jack and Silvia outside.

It is likely more interesting out there, anyway.

He is not wrong. Not wrong at all.

In the midst of Times Square, Jack looks around helplessly at the panic and chaos. He knows he wants to do something, but he does not have a concrete plan beyond avoiding the various objects that get tossed in his general direction.

Of course, when Kong comes bounding his way, his “plan” is to get the hell out of it.

It is, unfortunately, too late before Jack realizes that Kong is not going after him, but Mary Anne.

“Mary Anne! Run!” he calls out, but the distance between her and the ape is too short for running to make much of a difference.
