[The only thing that shows up on Jack's comm is a location, coordinates leading to an area in the Wastes that was, until recently, home to a group of sandworms. If someone investigates said coordinates, they will find the body of one Jack Harkness, covered with a very familiar coat. His clothes are in a pile nearby, along with a shirt that is ( Read more... )

[ When Ianto had got no reply from Jack upon his first attempt at reaching him, he knew something was wrong. Hurrying, he checked the coordinates again. The Wastes. Had he gotten into some trouble and needed backup down there? ]

If you can hear me, an answer would be nice about now.

[ Silence. But his question was answered a short time later as the body came into view. Jack. Naked underneath the coat beyond an unfamiliar shirt. He really didn't want to know. ]

Oh.

[ He picked up the clothes for when he woke up, and not even mindful of his suit being ruined, knelt down next to him and waited. ]

[Time passed. It wasn't long, not for one of Jack's deaths. Only about fifteen to twenty minutes. Then, Ianto's patience was rewarded, and there was a gasp from under the coat. Jack took a moment to reorient himself, then sat up, blinking dazedly, and reached for Ianto's hand.]

Hi.

[ It's a relief when Jack finally does come back with his usual gasp. Ianto tries to stay with Jack when he can, but he can't help but worry that it would be different here. But it isn't, apparently.

And also, he can't feel his legs at this point. He smiles, though - clasping Jack's hand and giving it a squeeze. ]

Hi, yourself. [ He doesn't mention the state he found Jack in, or ask what happened. If he wanted to tell him, though he would. Ianto holds up the clothes. ]

I think these belong to you.

[He has the good grace to look mildly sheepish, and takes the shirt from Ianto with his free hand.]

Glad you found them. Though I don't mind the idea of walking back home wearing nothing but my coat.

Offline - If you don't mind Jack having several rescuers? feel_nevermore November 5 2011, 12:18:48 UTC
[Having watched the feed and received the coordinates, Raven arrives in the wastes about ten minutes later. A superheroin like her couldn't very well ignore such a transmission.

She lands softly a few feet away from Jack's body and then comes to kneel down on the sand next to him. She remembers seeing that man over the network but she doesn't think they've met before. At least she can sense he's still alive even if he's pretty weak.]

Sir? Can you hear me?

Certainly not. :3 jackedthename November 5 2011, 15:11:59 UTC
[Well, now he is, going with the fact that he's woken up, and it takes some fumbling before he gets oriented and slightly sort of dressed, before he blinks up at her.]

Ooh, do I get to say 'my heroine' now, or would that be too cheesy?

[A shrug.] Post-traumatic stress tends to narrow people's focus, making them base their beliefs and thinking on limited input.

But if you insist on saying something, I'd rather you told me who you are and what happened to you.

The name's Jack Harkness, sweetheart, and I don't think you'd really like to hear the story of how I ended up naked in the Wastes.
