I've always used regular acrylic and I haven't had any problems at all. I'd recommend the Liquitex brand.

I've always used acrylic with no problems. I haven't tried using a paint sealer yet. In my experience, a little will flake the first couple times you wear it, then it'll stabilize. You'll probably need to touch it up around the six month mark.

But then again, I've never tried a paint sealer, so with that it might not flake off so.

My acrylic's never washed off, and I live in Rainland.

acryllic always cracked off of my boots, but they take more of a beating than jackets. i use leather paint now for both and its wonderfully amazing. i've had my backpiece finished for over a year and it hasnt flacked or cracked at all. the stuff i use is Angelus leather paint.it comes in all sorts of awesome colors and such.
