Wine Class

Took a class on Thursday called The Wines of Pennsylvania and I have to say it was really very cool! They had six wines from "local" wineries for us to try. Since they knew I was a complete novice at this they did bring it down a bit for me. :) And the rest of the class was excited to have a new person in the class. While I know my tastes usually run to the sweat wines I was surprised to find that one of my favorites for the night was a dry white. Hmmmmm! Now I need to get out to the winery to get some Gewurztraminer.

Just a heads-up that Gewurzes tend to be extremely sweet, unless they are specified as a dry Gewurz. I don't want you to go to a wine shop, buy a Gewurz and be surprised! (Although if you like sweet, you would probably enjoy a traditional Gewurz.)

That's a good thing to know in general. However for this one I plan on heading to the winery they had on hand so that I get what I know I liked. :) And they did cover in class that just because I like one winery's version of wine that I would like all winery's versions.

Though considering I like sweet - trying one from a wine store might not go amiss. ;)
