That's what I love about the pots, they're so drawn. At one extreme, very blocky and space-filling like Frank Millar, at other end very gentle as you can see in the background here. Very design/cartoon aesthetic. This Charon one the decoration on the lip is a bit wayward and unfinished, but he is indeed sketched so well, so full of life.
I'm glad we went to Wok and Roll so often, making good use of that being local to work. The small lunch specials were good, but I'm particularly glad we had a few times the Chinese-menu specials, esp. the satay beef in vermicelli and the steamed prawns and green beans ones.
I have literally not logged into LJ since 2013, it seems. Well, John S told me you had posted news. I probably haven't been in the Ash since pre-2013, either.
I was just in Lyon interviewing for a job, only a 2 day trip. I don't know how soon I can get to Oxford. I'm teaching in Miami right now and classes end soon, but then I have to move back to Boston. :( I will call on the weekend like I said. Thinking of you.
I went to the Gallo-Roman remains museum in Lyon, here's a 3-headed god who shares eyes on 2 sides, some lovely perfume bottles, geometric tile mosaics, and a strange device they can't identify - game? measuring thing? The French placard joke was D&D dice.

Fingers crossed with round 2, how are you bearing up? I'm hoping the side effects are minimal for you.
