I'm not at all familiar with The Stand, but this is beautifully written! (Besides, dropping Madeline into odd circumstances is fun!)

Thank you so much for reading this!! I'm glad you liked it. Poor Madeline, I drop her into the weirdest situations.

The Stand is an amazing, amazing book by Stephen King. A very limited description: a US military research facility accidentally unleashes a super flu that kills just about everyone. Only 0.0001% of the population have a natural immunity to it, meaning that in most places, there is either only one or two survivors, or none at all. God, speaking through a little old woman living in the midwest somewhere, and Satan, speaking through Randall Flagg (or possibly posing as Randall Flagg; can't really tell) start fighting it out for the remaining souls, both of them speaking to people in dreams, trying to bring them together. This book sounds amazing, both from your fic and the description you gave Jaybee. And I loved this--it was eerie and very in-character for Madeline, especially when she was talking about following orders and giving her loyalty. The beginning conversation with Paul was really touching, in an understated way. Great job!

Thank you so much!! <3 I've developed a sort of addiction to crossovers, it seems.

The book really is amazing. If ever you get the chance to read it, I cannot recommend it highly enough. The very beginning is a little slow-moving, but once you get a few chapters in, it's one of the books that just kind of sucks you in, in a way. It's quite possibly my favorite book ever...

I don't know why I've never commented on this story, b/c I did read it when you posted! In any case - it's lovely. I haven't read *all* of the Stand, but enough to understand this fic - and it works beautifully.
