We did the whole Santa thing and I was really mad when my best friend's kids told my lot he didn't exist, around age 6 - 7. But then the four of them - hers and mine - agreed that Santa DID and DID NOT exist, like Schrodinger's Cat. So Kay and I just stayed out of it and it was fine!

I get that Rowan's school, being a Christian preschool, is going to do Christmas stuff. But sending home a toy catalog so she can make a Santa list? Not cool. I'm okay with her believing in Santa but I don't want her set up to be disappointed, you know?

I don't remember believing in Santa, myself. I don't think my parents discouraged us, we just figured it out pretty early. That's my plan for R and S.
