I have to reread the trilogy, but as I recall, i CRIED at the end of the Amber Spyglass. I thought it was a pretty epic conclusion. And heart-wrenching!

I also LOVED Juno. All the characters, despite being pretty obvious caracatures, were just really REAL. Everyone had very human strengths and weaknesses and there weren't any easy answers. And it was hilarious.

really? I totally loved the Amber Spyglass, thought it was the best possible ending to the series, even if it felt a little rushed. You gotta give him props for not opting out on the fairytale ending, as much as I was hoping for that. (I totally sobbed too). I don't think a place to go after death necessarily has to be associated to religion, it could be considered another plane of existence. I guess I think of it differently because I wasn't raised religious at all, so I didn't even consider that being inconsistent.

Saw Juno yesterday, too. It was so cute!
